Burr cover plate is a bio-implant used in cranial (skull) surgery. The common material used to fabricate these bio-implants is 316L SS, a chromium-nickel alloy. The 316L implants are vulnerable to cracks under acute stress conditions. A203 is a low alloy nickel based steel. There have been a few attempts to use this as an implant material. This project is aimed at machining burr cover plates with the above two materials using wedm and compare them to find if A203 is a viable replacement for 316LSS.
