Cable truss systems are very lightweight compared to other steel roof systems, and has the advantage of being able to design large space roofs. It is a structural system suitable for the roof system of large space stadium such as football stadium, tennis stadiums, baseball stadiums, viewing facilities, and exhibition facilities. After performing a geometric nonlinear analysis on several 100m span retractable cable roof systems, the authors will analyzed the deflection of overall roof, tensile forces of cables, and compressive forces of roof posts from analysis results. The results of this study will be a very useful guideline for the design of retractable large span cable roofs. And it is useful information to control the slope of the roof slope and the sag ratio of the cable truss by adjusting the height of the post from the deformation or deflection of the whole roof.
